Proposal Rock Intimate Wedding | Neskowin, OR
This wedding was really special to all of us on the vendor team because, after months of planning, Rachel & Nate felt like family. They flew across the country (from Brooklyn, NY) with 11 of their closest family members to spend a weekend in Neskowin & exchange vows.
Their wedding day began with the two of them rushing to nearby Tillamook to obtain their marriage certificate as soon as the courthouse opened! Once they returned back to their family, they all shared a brunch together, followed by a leisurely stroll on the beach with their pups! (Yes, they also flew their 3 dogs to have them as a part of the festivities!) They began to separately get ready, with mimosas & joints in hand, and then shared a private First Look together. Following their first look, Rachel also chose to share a First Look moment with her dad & brother.
We were supposed to have thundershowers that day, but to our surprise, it was SO sunny without a cloud in the sky - posing a different challenge - too much harsh sunlight. We waited until closer to sunset to begin the ceremony. Nate's parents led the Ketubah signing ceremony, a Jewish wedding tradition. Then, they sat down for the ceremony on the back deck, with Proposal Rock providing the perfect backdrop. Their intimate ceremony was officiated by Nate's brother, and they included sweet moments, as family members shared wishes & advice, as well as funny moments, as the pups ran around....and even decided the middle of the aisle was a great place to do their "business".
After their vows were sealed with a kiss, the newly-bound family toasted with champagne & enjoyed appetizers together while the married couple took photos with Clark. A true PNW dinner, provided by Meridian Restaurant of Headlands Lodge, was enjoyed for their reception, followed by vegan treats from Petunia's in Portland & a delicious cake baked by the groom's sister. Additional reception activities included watching a video that Rachel made for Nate back when they were dating (as a surprise for Rachel) and listening to Rachel's dad & brother play the drums along to The Gypsy Kings.
Rachel & Nate's wedding was a true family affair - so intimate & intentional. It was an honor to be a part of it, and so exciting to design. Early on, Rachel requested that we (Alisha from For the Love of Floral & I) just "surprise her" with the aesthetics of their day. We saw a glimpse of the gown she chose & played off of its details when it came to the overall design.
