Romantic Gray Gables Estate Wedding | Portland, OR
I loved styling this wedding at Gray Gables Estate. It was easy to feel the love in and around David & Tiffany's wedding day. Their guests gathered to support them both as they exchanged vows, complete with tears & laughter. It was a no-brainer when I was asked to get involved with designing & styling their wedding.
Tiffany & David wanted to combine their styles as seamlessly as possible; to make it reflective of their personalities. We worked with a color palette of ivory, navy, burgundy, and gold. Geometric accents were also peppered in to marry a modern, yet romantic overall design. Gray Gables Estate provided the perfect balance of a light outdoor ceremony space with a more intimate indoor reception area.
It seemed as if all of the details were coming together well before the wedding. Tiffany, being extremely organized & methodical, had taken care of most of the planning. About two weeks to their wedding day, we found that it was still difficult to settle on centerpieces. I had Tiffany come by and, using decor I had on hand, we brainstormed options for them.
Their reception layout included both circular tables & a couple long banquet table rows. I really loved how guests had a few options for seating, depending on their preference for socializing. They could sit with a more close-knit group at an individual round table, or they could expand their group of friends by joining in with many others at the banquet tables.
We chose a few different centerpiece options, focusing most of the decor of the tables towards the center of the room; the focal points. Then, using similar items, we "lightened" the decor towards the perimeter. An easy means of keeping centerpieces affordable is to go with a general theme, but mix up the arrangements based on where the tables are located in the reception area! In the end, we were so pleased with how the reception turned out! It felt elegant, intimate, and almost regal.
After a delicious buffet dinner, guests shared tears & laughter as we heard speeches from the bridal party. Soon after, the endless variety of sweets provided by David's mother were devoured, and we ended the evening dancing the night away, and Gray Gables Estate provided the perfect backdrop.
