Wildflower Elopement | Rowena Crest | Columbia River Gorge

We survived April showers, and it surely brought those gorgeous May flowers. Sure, wedding season primarily runs June through September in our beloved Pacific Northwest, but when you see the potential for an elopement outside of that time frame - I mean, come on! With the Columbia River Gorge just about in our backyard - it’s worth the venture about 1.5 hours outside to elope among the wildflowers covering scenic Rowena Crest.

Planning an elopement can happen as quickly as you want it to. Usually, our timeframe can be adjusted to planning one in as little as a month. There are less moving pieces, and generally, those who want to elope understand the importance of those who are involved - you really just need you two, someone to make it all official, an incredible photographer/videographer team to capture all of the essential moments like Deus Amor, and us to ensure it all comes together seamlessly.

A quick Wednesday getaway to Rowena Crest on the warmest day of the year so far led to the discovery of the potential that this location had for an exchanging of vows. It was so easy to find this viewpoint - there was even parking & potties nearby! We were able to choose our backdrop from the variety of wildflower fields to the jaw-dropping view of the Columbia River Gorge. There were plenty of nooks tucked away from others who stopped to enjoy the area which provided plenty of privacy. With snacks & bug spray in tow (the mosquitos are very “friendly” here), we walked less than a half mile to our ceremony site, careful not to disturb the beautiful flora growing along the way.

Oregon is become quite the hotspot for eloping couples, and we are not surprised one bit! Just less than two hours outside of Portland, you can choose from mountain, coastal, wine country, woodsy, and gorge views.
