Heirloom-Filled Spanish Wedding Vibes at Tendue | Portland, OR
Styling this "Getting Ready & First Look” vignette for Mylyn Wood’s rebranding shoot was so much fun. Often times, it’s easy to focus on the ceremony & reception details, but these more quiet, intimate moments of the wedding day story need attention, too!
Tendue’s beautiful, yet comfortable setting offered such a great “getting ready” location for our bride & groom. The venue is expertly designed & beautifully captured on film - it was a no brainer that everything would turn out so visually pleasing. (Bonus tip: if you are looking for a gorgeous, convenient location to rent hourly to capture this part of your wedding day - Tendue is perfect).
One of my favorite ways to incorporate items of a sentimental value is during this part of the wedding day. Often times, parents of the couple come with heirlooms they’ve saved & had passed down from generation to generation. With our groom, we had a vintage shaving kit & beer stein. Our bride included a vintage ring dish & hairbrush, along with a sweet photo of her grandparents.
When we moved on to the “First Look”, the mood was set with a very vibe “Besame Mucho”. When our groom saw his bride for the first time, his eyes instantly lit up and gave us all the feels. Truly a special moment to witness as a part of any wedding day - whether before/during the ceremony. The couple celebrated each other with a bit of dancing, and the Ivy & Aster gown our bride wore was MADE for twirling. In my opinion, there’s nothing like movement captured on film - and Mylyn did a phenomenal job of doing so!
Sharing these kind of moments on your wedding day can bring about such special memories years down the road. Each wedding day can be a hectic one, but remember to make it about the things that count. Let the main thing remain the main thing & you won’t regret it.
