All Things Feminine | Tendue | French Inspired Styled Shoot
Feminine neutrals, cool & warm hues, a grazing board, and a little bit of honey were the key elements used to design this French-inspired editorial shoot. To be honest, you really can't go wrong when they are all part of the equation!
Brittney Boone of When She Knew Photography reached out to us to collaborate on another styled shoot, and after seeing the results of the last project we worked on together, we jumped at the chance immediately! At the same time, a new venue popped up on the scene, Tendue. It is an event space located in the historic Ford Building that is perfect for workshops, intimate events, meetings, and photoshoots. Once we saw their iconic blue floors, we knew that it would be the ideal space for this photoshoot, and plans began to come together.
We teamed up with Kylie Sallee, an accomplished makeup artist in the fashion industry because we wanted to incorporate a more editorial feel. SIBO Designs provided the perfect gown, veil, and accessories. Pink + Peach, a Seattle-based calligrapher, sent down an invitation suite, menu, and place cards. Local baker, Rachel Hanna, supplied us with a tasteful two-tiered cake that included gold-leafing details. Wild & Wayward provided delicate, romantic florals to accent the table & model. Each of these participants used their expertise to contribute to our grand idea, and together, we accomplished a feminine, French-inspired wedding inspiration shoot.
A couple of my favorite memories from this styled shoot were giving my flat lay design skills a whirl for the first time and unloading a whole bottle of honey on the cake at the end. I'd never gotten a chance to practice styling an invitation suite before, but I was able to use Brittney's handmade styling surfaces, silk ribbon, and vintage components to highlight the paper goods. As we were wrapping up our shoot, I had a split-second idea to douse the cake in honey because I envisioned that it dripping down the sides would produce a very appealing effect when captured in photos. I don't think I was wrong!
After the film scans came back, Brittney wisely decided to submit our editorial shoot to wedding blogs and magazines, and we are thrilled that it was picked up by Joy Wed Blog. Go check out our feature for more photos!
