Allie & Ben | Skamania Stone House | Woodsy Anniversary Shoot
Ah, this shoot. When I look back on the way it came together, it is proof that even when everything falls apart, something good can come out of it!
I "met" Maya through Instagram, originally. I was following along on her feed, when I came across this super cool photo of hers that I absolutely LOVED, so I showed my appreciation by commenting on it. She replied to my message stating that she liked my work as well, and what was initially a flippant reply back, "if you're ever in the area...", turned into solid plans! Maya lives in Southern California, and she happened to be photographing a wedding up in this neck of the woods, so we coordinated schedules to make sure we planned something while she was here.
We dreamed up an epic styled shoot idea, but as I reached out to vendors to collaborate, it seemed like everyone and their mom was already otherwise engaged that weekend. Time was passing, and I knew the day for the shoot would be here before I knew it, and quite honestly, I was starting to panic. Nothing was turning out as planned, and I didn't want to waste Maya's time. In the end, we switched gears, and we decided to make it an anniversary session for the gorgeous couple, Allie & Ben.
I came across the Skamania Stone House while wandering the land of Pinterest, and I knew it would be the perfect location for us! I ended up shopping for my own items and styled a cozy little coffee & croissant themed picnic as our backdrop. Allie & Ben were naturals in front of the camera, as they spent time snuggling, smooching, and smiling. It ended up all coming together wonderfully, and we had a blast, on top of it all.
