Intimate Wedding at Tendue in Portland, OR

Though we design and plan weddings of all sizes, our true specialty is planning intimate (or micro) weddings. Whittling down lengthy guest lists is the best way to be able to bring down the costs associated with weddings, as a huge chunk of fees is associated with headcount (catering, rentals, size of venues, etc.)

Kari and Nick came to us hoping to plan a lush, boho wedding in the heart of Portland, OR. Because their guest list was under 20 folks total, we embarked on a hunt to find the perfect venue that wouldn’t be so large that their group would get lost in the immensity of the space, but wouldn’t be so small that we couldn’t have a sit-down dinner. Quickly, the spot that came to mind was getting creative with two spaces that were across the hallway from each other in the creative Ford Building – The Light Room, a blank space studio, and Tendue, a stylish French Country inspired space used for tiny events, workshops, and more. We decided to use The Light Room as the ceremony space, and then flip it to house a lounge wh ere guests could relax and spill into after dinner, and we used Tendue as the reception area.

Lily and Cane, a specialty rental company, is our go-to for unique pieces that will add that pizzazz to any event. The textures, colors, and shapes through each of their pieces are always the perfect addition to any of our designs, especially for the boho-focused lounge that Kari hoped we would incorporate into their special day.

We’re thrilled with how this intimate wedding celebration came together. Everyone who attended was so present, at ease, and most importantly, full of joy to celebrate Kari & Nick’s union. It’s such an honor to be a part of these pivotal moments in our couples’ lives.
